In Ukraine, there have been 426 applications from citizens for the demining of agricultural lands under the compensation program, with over 1,500 hectares cleared in 2025.
This was reported on air by the director of the Humanitarian Demining Center (HDC) Volodymyr Baida, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“Currently, we see significant progress in the program. To date, we have received 426 applications covering over 14,000 hectares of agricultural land (previously, only 3,000 hectares were cleared in three years).
We have held 65 auctions, and contracts worth a total of UAH 835 million have been signed under the program. Regarding the cleared (from mines – ed.) territory, more than 1,500 hectares have already been released this year,” he said.
According to Baida, UAH 3 billion has been allocated for the program in 2025.
“Agrarians are much more active this year. Last year, out of 85 operators, only eight participated in the auctions; now, there are about 20,” Baida noted.
He clarified that out of 235 applications this year, 110 were rejected due to the lack of non-technical land surveys.
