Increased Efficiency of Solar Power Plants in Ukraine

With the arrival of spring, Ukraine has seen improved productivity from solar power plants, prompting the population to optimize energy usage.

According to the press service of "Ukrenergo", it is crucial to follow recommendations for shifting energy consumption to daylight hours on sunny days.

"We urge you to use high-power appliances from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, as this is when the energy system needs it the most", the statement emphasizes.

Energy specialists explain that during the day, the active operation of solar power plants causes an excess of power in the system, leading to the need for operational restrictions.

In the evening hours, when energy consumption peaks, solar energy is no longer available and must be replaced by other generation types.

Additionally, overcoming the daytime power surplus through export is challenging, as neighboring countries have similar or greater installed capacities of solar power plants.

"Currently, the difference between cloudy and sunny days is equivalent to the output of several blocks of large thermal power plants", noted "Ukrenergo".

On cloudy and cold days, energy officials urged consumers to shift their electricity usage to the evening and night hours due to daytime generation limitations during peak consumption periods.
