Attack on Journalist in Kyiv: Incident Details
On April 16, an incident took place in the capital of Ukraine when an unknown individual attacked the well-known journalist and producer of Public Broadcasting, Yuriy Makarov, inflicting a stab wound.
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing Mykola Chernotytskyi, the head of the National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine.

According to reports, the assailant attacked Makarov late in the evening on April 16.
The journalist was hospitalized in serious condition, but his life is not currently in danger.
The Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv announced the initiation of a criminal proceeding regarding the attack on the journalist in the Solomyanskyi district of the capital.
The investigation has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional serious bodily harm.
It has been preliminarily established that near one of the residential complexes, an unknown person approached a passerby, unexpectedly stabbed him, and fled the scene.
The victim turned out to be a 69-year-old Kyiv resident, an employee of one of the national media organizations. An investigative team was working at the scene.
The police have seized the weapon used in the crime and other material evidence. Measures are currently being taken to apprehend the assailant.
