Financial Assistance for Newborns in 2025

In 2025, families welcoming a newborn will still be eligible for financial compensation to purchase essential items for children through the «baby package» program.

This financial aid represents a one-time payment allocated for each live birth and can be spent on various children's goods, including hygiene products, clothing, food, and toys.

The compensation is provided to parents of newborns, and in their absence, to guardians or foster parents in a non-cash form credited to a special account at a participating bank. A list of such banks is available on the official website of the State Service for Children of Ukraine.

The compensation amount for 2025 is set at 7689 UAH, equivalent to three times the subsistence minimum for children under six years old.

Recipients can apply for the compensation:

• in person by submitting an application to the social protection office;
• by mail in paper form;
• electronically via the «eBaby» service.

Applications for compensation must be submitted within 12 months from the child's birth date.

Within one year of the funds being credited, recipients can use the designated compensation for purchasing children's products at stores that participate in the «baby package» program. A list of these stores is also available on the Ministry of Social Policy's website.

Additionally, parents can receive tangible assistance in the form of a «baby package», which includes over 50 useful items for newborns, including new products such as reusable diapers and warm clothing. The package also features a helpful book “From Birth to One Year” by UNICEF, providing practical advice for parents.
