Compensations for Defenders in Kyiv in 2024
In 2024, 176 defenders and their families received compensation from the Kyiv city budget for medical expenses amounting to nearly 4.4 million UAH. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the KCSA, Marina Honda.
“Our goal is to provide every Defender, their families, and the families of the fallen with necessary medical support. Compensation for medical expenses is a significant step in this direction, as not all needs are covered by the NHSU. In 2024, this support was utilized by 176 individuals, including reimbursements for individualized jaw implants and oncology treatments,” she said.
She emphasized that the compensation applies to outpatient and inpatient treatment, including endoprosthetics and hearing aid fitting. Information about the categories eligible for this service and the list of required documents is available here: http://e.surl.li/hhoqqo.
“The decision to grant compensation is made by a specially formed commission. We are working diligently to ensure that support is provided as quickly and effectively as possible to those in need. Each case is, of course, individual, and amounts vary. The highest payment was 312,000 UAH, with a total of nearly 4.4 million UAH disbursed. Therefore, I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity, which will also be available next year,” added Marina Honda.
The Deputy Head of the KCSA also noted that compensation is provided for treatment in departmental, state, and municipal healthcare facilities within Ukraine.
