Revamping the Overpass on Polyarnaya Street: Progress and Future Plans

The major renovation of the overpass on Polyarnaya Street in Kyiv's Obolon district is currently underway. The main construction works are expected to be completed by the end of this year. According to Kyivavtodor, the primary activities are focused on the section of the overpass leading towards Heroes of Dnipro Street.
As of October 23, the construction team has installed the last 32 beams of the span structure, totaling 64 beams in the project. New supports and girders have also been installed.
“We are entering the next phase: reinforcing the span structures, installing a monolithic slab for the roadway and sidewalk, and mounting cornice blocks, railings, and barrier fences,” stated the Kyivavtodor.
To maintain traffic and pedestrian movement through the overpass, all works are being carried out with partial phased restrictions.
The main construction works, with full restoration of traffic flow, are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
Simultaneously, work is ongoing to install bike and pedestrian paths, decorate the underground pedestrian crossing, and improve the surrounding area.
