SBU Detains FSB Agent in Kyiv
Operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have detained an FSB agent in the capital who was providing information for missile attacks on Kyiv. The individual is a 36-year-old employee of a company that installs security systems.
Throughout the autumn, he gathered data for the enemy regarding potential targets in the city.
During business trips, he also monitored the aftermath of attacks on Kyiv's energy facilities, reporting to the FSB to improve strikes.
The enemy sought to obtain information about the location of Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems, hoping to evade them.
The SBU uncovered the agent, documented his actions, and made the arrest.
The investigation revealed that the man came to the attention of the FSB due to his comments on social media where he called for aggression against Ukraine.
He was subsequently recruited and assigned tasks through anonymous communication channels.
During searches, electronic devices and SIM cards used for concealment were found with the detainee.
The agent has been charged with three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason during wartime);
- Part 3 of Article 436-2 (justification of aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine);
- Part 2 of Article 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine).
The criminal is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was conducted by SBU employees in cooperation with the Office of the Prosecutor General.
