The National Reserve «Kyiv Pechersk Lavra» in collaboration with the NGO «eMuseum» has unveiled a new audio guide tailored for individuals using sign language. This information was shared on the website of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
The inclusive service is now available on the emuseum.online platform, developed through the joint efforts of the reserve and the NGO «eMuseum».
The sign language translation was provided by the well-known translator and accessibility researcher Uliana Shumilo. As a result, individuals with hearing impairments can now fully explore the key sights of the Lavra, including the Dormition Cathedral, the Trinity Gate Church, the Great Lavra Bell Tower, the Church of the Savior at Berestove, and other sacred sites.
The Ministry of Culture emphasized that the launch of this audio guide opens up cultural heritage to a broader audience and contributes to the creation of a truly accessible cultural environment. This initiative is part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space, initiated by the First Lady Olena Zelenska.
