Political Scandal: Fraud Charges Against Party Leader

In the capital of Ukraine, law enforcement agencies, in collaboration with the SBU, uncovered the criminal activity of a political party leader.
According to the investigation, a 41-year-old man, whose party was dissolved by court order, promised a Kyiv resident a fictitious job in the party for a monetary reward and assistance in being elected as a member of the Ukrainian parliament.
The police documented his illegal actions and arrested him while he was receiving $160,000 for his 'services'.
The suspect has been charged under parts 2 of Article 15 and 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to completed attempts at fraud during martial law. The offender faces up to 12 years in prison with property confiscation.
The court has chosen to impose a preventive measure in the form of custody with the right to post bail of 6,725,000 UAH.
