Prevention of Terrorist Attacks in Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine has taken measures to prevent attempts of terrorist attacks in Kyiv. According to the investigation, the enemy planned to carry out contract killings of prominent Ukrainians, as well as explosions in shopping centers and metro stations.
Thanks to timely actions, the SBU was able to thwart the enemy's plans and identify the organizer, who resides in the temporarily occupied Crimea and collaborates with Russian special services.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was looking for «like-minded individuals» for recruitment into the FSB's agent network.
Among them were his acquaintances who held Ukrainian citizenship and were not subject to mobilization.
The Security Service documented the attempt to smuggle a recruited resident of Crimea to Kyiv through third countries.
Upon arrival in the capital, the agent received the coordinates of a hideout where he was to retrieve a firearm.
It has been established that this weapon was intended for a contract killing of a media figure in Kyiv.
Additionally, the agent was instructed to prepare for terrorist attacks in several capital shopping malls and at a metro station. For this, he received instructions on how to create improvised explosive devices, which were to be concealed in backpacks.
Each explosive was to be equipped with a mobile phone for remote detonation during peak hours, when the locations would be most crowded.
Thus, the enemy aimed to sow panic among the capital's residents and destabilize the socio-political situation in Kyiv.
The Security Service promptly exposed the agent and documented all his contacts with the FSB through a resident of Crimea.

Since the suspect is located in the occupied territory, actions are ongoing to bring him to justice. The qualification of the agent's crimes is being determined. The investigation continues regarding all participants in the FSB's agent network.
