Arrest of a Member of the FSB Agent Group in Kyiv Region
The Security Service of Ukraine has arrested another member of the FSB agent network in the Kyiv region, which was uncovered earlier this spring. These criminals were coordinating missile attacks on the capital of Ukraine.
In May, the first member of this hostile group was apprehended for tracking the positions of Ukrainian forces for Russian bombardments. According to the SBU, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison with asset confiscation.
Currently, the second agent, a 49-year-old employee of a local service station, has been detained. He came under the radar of the FSB while seeking "easy earnings" on Telegram channels.
Following the instructions of the Russian special services, this individual was gathering information about the technical condition of energy facilities in the Kyiv region and sending this data along with coordinates to his handlers.
Among the priority "targets" he was searching for were electrical substations that continue to supply electricity to most of Kyiv.
The agent also monitored backup bases of Ukrainian defenders in the city and its surroundings.
SBU officials documented the crimes of this individual and arrested him. A phone containing evidence of his work for Russia was seized.
Investigators of the Security Service have informed the agent of suspicion under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
Comprehensive measures were conducted by SBU employees in Kyiv and the Kyiv region under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Attorney General.
