Youth Film Festival: New Horizons

The opening ceremony of the 54th International Youth Film Festival took place at the “House of Cinema” in Kyiv. This was announced by the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinematography on Facebook.
This year, the festival features 158 films from 59 countries, showcased in 14 different programs. Additionally, various industry events are planned throughout the festival.
The festival opened with a screening of the film "The Apartment" by director Billy Wilder, a classic of Hollywood, in honor of the centenary of Oscar-winning actor Jack Lemmon.
The evening began with a moment of silence for all fallen soldiers and civilians who became victims of Russian aggression.
The hosts of the ceremony were TV stars Mark Kucevalov and Kateryna Olos, who are presenting the new project "Mission Accomplished" on the TET channel.
Head of the State Film Agency Andriy Osipov delivered a speech and expressed gratitude on behalf of Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to film and TV producer Serhiy Lavrenyuk. The General Director of the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival, Andriy Khalpakhchi, awarded the honorary "Scythian Deer" to Serhiy Mishchenko, president and general director of the ILTA company.
Serhiy Bordenyuk, head of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, also took the floor.
The main attraction of the film festival is the international competition, featuring 12 films this year. Within the debut documentary competition, ten projects from various countries will be presented.
