Fraudsters Mislead Ukrainians with Fake Social Media Page

Prosecutors have charged a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old from Kyiv who amassed one million hryvnias through a fake page called «Madyar». This was reported by the Office of the General Prosecutor on Telegram.
Under the supervision of juvenile prosecutors from the Svyatoshyn District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv, the two individuals were accused of creating a fake page for the commander of the UAV Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign «Madyar».
«They spent six months collecting money «for the military» via TikTok, and the funds collected — at least 1 million UAH — were used for their own expenses», the prosecution noted.
Their actions have been classified as fraud committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy using electronic means (part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
