Charges Against Law Enforcement Officers for Abuse of Power

Officials from the State Bureau of Investigations have charged two police officers in Kyiv for assaulting a man on October 17 near the Holosiivskyi RTC.
The officers inflicted multiple blows to the victim's head and body, resulting in serious injuries.
It has been established that the suspects attacked the detained individual after he sprayed pepper spray inside a vehicle.
Both officers have been charged with exceeding their authority (part 2, article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The victim has been sent for a forensic medical examination to assess the extent of physical harm caused by the beating.
The law stipulates a punishment of up to 8 years in prison for this offense.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office is overseeing the proceedings.
