A 37-year-old woman was apprehended by law enforcement in Kyiv for distributing drugs using postal services. She faces up to ten years in prison.
Officers from the Desnyansky District Police Department caught the suspect as she was heading to a postal office to send a pre-packaged batch of illegal substances. A forensic team was called to the scene.
During the investigation, authorities confiscated eight packages of methadone that she had hidden in toy boxes.
Police discovered that the woman was sending methadone to clients throughout the city, packaging the drugs in her apartment before shipment. She was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators charged her with part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic substances in large quantities with intent to distribute. She faces severe penalties, including asset confiscation.
