Drug Crimes in Kyiv: Arrest of Offenders
Law enforcement in Kyiv has uncovered a group of individuals selling illegal substances through so-called «master classes» – large batches hidden in parks and public spaces. The offenders face up to 12 years in prison along with asset confiscation.
Officers from the Pechersk Police Department, in collaboration with the Narcotics Crime Unit, apprehended the drug dealers while transporting an 8-kilogram batch of psychotropic substance in the trunk of a Skoda vehicle.
The arrested include a 26-year-old foreign national residing in Kyiv and a 45-year-old man from Dnipropetrovsk region visiting the capital.
During investigative actions, police found a location where the offenders had already made a 5-kilogram «stash» and seized a package containing the psychotropic substance Alpha-PVP. A total of 13 kg of the drug was confiscated, with a black market value of approximately 6 million UAH.
The suspects were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and were informed of the suspicion according to part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation with the intent to sell particularly dangerous psychotropic substances, committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy.
According to the sanctions of the article, they face up to 12 years of imprisonment with asset confiscation.
