A criminal investigation has been launched in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv regarding an official suspected of misappropriating nearly one million hryvnias in budget funds during the capital repair of a shelter. The Prosecutor's Office has notified the head of the construction department of the suspicion due to providing false information in official documents and the unlawful use of budget allocations during the parking lot repairs, which serves as a shelter (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It has been established that the suspect ensured the victory of a company in the tender for the repair work.
After the completion of the work, the contractor submitted inflated data on the volume of work performed, which the head of the department approved, allowing the company to receive full payment.
As a result, the city's budget suffered losses of nearly 1 million hryvnias.
The investigation continues, and the involvement of other officials from the Holosiivskyi District in the misappropriation of funds is being examined.
