New Training Center for Ukrainian Troops Opens in Poland

With the backing of Norway in southeastern Poland, near the Ukrainian border, a new training facility for the Ukrainian military has been opened, accommodating 1,200 soldiers at once.
The opening ceremony of the center (Camp Jomsborg) was attended on Wednesday by officials from Ukraine, Poland, Norway, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, and Iceland, as reported by the Polish Ministry of Defense.
«The establishment of this center demonstrates the capacity to train Ukrainian soldiers on a large scale in a suitable location - the Subcarpathian region close to Ukraine, on a training ground that is truly beginning a new chapter. This site is now equipped with capabilities it has never had before», remarked Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The Polish official expressed gratitude to Norway for swiftly bringing this idea to fruition, emphasizing the importance of allies utilizing Ukrainian experiences.
«Alongside us, there is a runway for launching drones. There is space to study the ongoing war experiences in Ukraine, implement best practices, and explore drone combat capabilities that the Ukrainian army possesses», Kosiniak-Kamysz highlighted.
The center is located at the Dęba-Lipa Land Forces Training Center. It was established as part of an international initiative by the Norwegian Armed Forces with Poland as the host nation.
According to the Polish Ministry of Defense, this center represents another facet of allied support for Ukraine and enables continued cooperation in enhancing defense capabilities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense, Yuriy Mironenko.
