New Digital Sports Routes Launched for Active Leisure in Kyiv
In the capital of Ukraine, 18 new digital sports routes have been launched, providing fresh opportunities for active leisure. With advanced navigation, residents and visitors can exercise while discovering intriguing aspects of the city’s history and culture. Oлена Говорова, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, shared the news.
"These routes represent a significant step in promoting an active lifestyle among Kyivans. We want everyone to improve their physical and mental well-being through sports," she emphasized. Information boards will be installed in every district of Kyiv to aid orientation and introduce users to digital content. QR codes on these boards allow access to audio guides, 3D objects, and VR tours. We thank Adidas for their support in implementing this project.
Currently, navigation is available on 10 routes across the capital, with the remaining 8 set to be introduced shortly. The routes have been developed in collaboration with the mass sports association, focusing on the needs of runners. The team at the KP "HIOC" has digitized the routes and made them available on the tourist and cultural hub guide.kyivcity.gov.ua.
Examples include:
- Holosiivski Hills;
- Obolon Run;
- Volodymyrska Hill - Park Alley.
Each route features its own audio guide, accessible by scanning the QR code on the signage. The digital version also includes 10 3D objects and 5 VR tours.
This project has been realized in partnership with Adidas, which provided the installation of navigation signs with QR codes that offer access to various engaging materials.
As a reminder, Kyiv recently opened the first barrier-free sports complex in Ukraine. "LokoChoko" will serve as a new sports hub in the Solomyansky district, where both children and veterans can train, as sports play a crucial role in recovery and psychological support.
