Aggressor Arrested: Violent Attack on Young Woman
A legal case has been initiated against a man who committed a violent attack on a 21-year-old woman in the entrance of an apartment building in Kyiv. The perpetrator, concealing his face with a motorcycle helmet, waited for the victim near the elevator, sprayed her face with tear gas, and struck her several times with a metal rod. He then stole her mobile phone and fled, but was soon apprehended by law enforcement. He faces a potential sentence of up to fifteen years in prison.
Recall that in July, a report was made to the emergency line 102 about a robbery attack on a 21-year-old woman in the entrance of a residential building in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv. Law enforcement quickly identified and detained the suspect, a 34-year-old man from Kyiv.
During the pre-trial investigation, authorities found that the attacker had waited near the elevator for the victim, then sprayed her with tear gas, hit her with a metal rod, and stole her smartphone.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Solomianskyi district prosecutor's office, charged the suspect under part 4 of article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery combined with violence endangering the life and health of an individual, committed under martial law conditions.
The investigation has now concluded, and the indictment has been sent to court. The suspect faces fifteen years in prison with asset confiscation.
