European Parliament President Visits Kyiv
The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, arrived in Kyiv, where she was welcomed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, at the railway station.
This information was shared by him on his Facebook account along with a photo of the meeting.
Stefanchuk emphasized that Metsola's visit is a significant sign of solidarity and unwavering support for Ukraine.
Earlier, Metsola announced her trip to the Ukrainian capital through social media platform X.
"Next stop: Kyiv," she wrote in the caption to a photo where she stands next to a Ukrainian train.
Later, the President of the European Parliament shared a photo of herself being greeted by Ruslan Stefanchuk.
"Back in Kyiv. After 1300 days of aggression, I am in Ukraine with a powerful message of support from the European Parliament. Just as we have been with you from day one, we will continue to stand by your side," wrote Metsola.
According to the schedule published by the European Parliament’s press service, Metsola plans to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, and leaders of factions and groups in the Verkhovna Rada. She will also deliver a speech to the Ukrainian MPs in the Verkhovna Rada. Additionally, Roberta Metsola is set to launch a European Parliament liaison office in Ukraine, which will serve as a key contact point for enhancing cooperation with national parliaments and civil society.
