Police Arrest Six in Major Drug Bust in Kyiv

The police in Kyiv have apprehended six individuals associated with an interregional drug syndicate, confiscating illegal substances valued at four million hryvnias. The operation was carried out by the Shevchenkivskyi District Police in collaboration with criminal analysis experts and under the guidance of the Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
According to the head of the Shevchenkivskyi Police Department, Ihor Padiuk, the mastermind of this drug operation was a 33-year-old resident of Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, who involved five accomplices from Kamianske and the capital:
«In Dnipropetrovsk, three drug dealers rented a private house where they packaged psychotropic substances and shipped them across Ukraine. Meanwhile, three of their associates set up a stash house in Kyiv, where they also packaged these substances for distribution to various regions of the country, finding clients through a private Telegram channel».
As a result of simultaneous searches, supported by special police forces and canine units in the capital and Dnipropetrovsk, law enforcement discovered and seized approximately 8 kg of alpha-PVP, 9 kg of cannabis, over 1 kg of amphetamine, and more than 2500 MDMA tablets. The street value of the confiscated drugs is estimated to be 4 million hryvnias.
The suspects were arrested under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators have charged the six members of the group under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs in particularly large sizes. They face up to twelve years in prison with asset confiscation.
