Fraudster Arrested in Kyiv for Selling Cars Intended for the Armed Forces

In the capital, law enforcement has apprehended the organizer of a fraudulent scheme who attempted to sell three cars imported for the Armed Forces for $14,000. She was caught «in the act» during the transaction.
The illegal activity was uncovered by Kyiv police investigators in collaboration with the Department of Internal Security of the National Police. The perpetrator is a 47-year-old woman currently residing in the capital region, originally from Dnipropetrovsk.
The fraudster, representing a charitable organization, established a scheme to sell cars that had been brought into the country as humanitarian aid. She sought potential buyers through advertisements on online platforms and a specially created community on social media, where she promoted her offers.
Terms of sale and car prices were discussed during personal meetings and correspondence with clients. After receiving payment, she would prepare the necessary documents and hand over the vehicle to the new owner.
She attempted to sell three cars from the humanitarian fleet for $14,000 but was apprehended right after the deal.
During authorized searches at her residence, police discovered four foreign-registered vehicles, cash, mobile phones containing correspondence with clients, and other evidence of illegal activity.
Investigators have already charged her under part 2 of article 15, part 3 of article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit). She faces up to seven years in prison for her actions.
The procedural leadership is being conducted by the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv.
