Illegal Mobilization Exemption Scheme: Case Details
The offender promised men of conscription age employment at a company authorized to provide mobilization exemptions. It has been established that he acted as an intermediary in a corruption scheme, and investigations into other participants are ongoing. This illegal activity could result in up to ten years in prison.
The corruption scheme was documented by the investigators of the Kyiv police in collaboration with the City Investigation Department and under the supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Central Region.
According to the investigation, an employee of the Ministry of Defense's Mobilization Department offered men of conscription age a job for a monetary reward of 10,000 dollars at a company entitled to provide mobilization exemptions.
Investigators apprehended the suspect while receiving the stated amount from the «client».
The perpetrator has been notified of the suspicion under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – aiding in the receipt of unlawful benefits.
By court order, the suspect has been remanded in custody. He faces imprisonment of up to ten years.
