A Deadly Conflict Between Acquaintances

Investigators have informed the suspect of the charges against him. According to the law, he faces up to eight years in prison.
Recently, the police received a report from a local woman stating that her 44-year-old husband had left home in his car and had lost contact.
During the search, officers, along with criminal analysis analysts, used surveillance cameras to determine the route of the missing person and located his car on a street in the Obolon district.
It was later discovered that the missing man had met with an acquaintance to whom he owed a significant sum of money and entered his apartment. A conflict arose over the refusal of the debtor to repay the money.
During the argument, the homeowner grabbed a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds to the man’s chest and abdomen. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition, while the suspect was apprehended under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigator charged the 48-year-old Kyiv resident under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code – intentional severe bodily harm. The court imposed a preventive measure of detention without the possibility of bail. The penalty under this article is up to 8 years in prison.
