Aggressive Young Man Sentenced for Threatening Police in Subway

A young man who threatened law enforcement in the Kyiv subway has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison. The incident occurred in January of this year. In the evening at the «Khreshchatyk» metro station, a 20-year-old man, under the influence of alcohol, behaved aggressively, provoking conflicts with other passengers.
When approached by police officers, he did not respond but instead pulled out a traumatic gun and threatened them. Eventually, citizens along with the police managed to detain him, but he managed to injure one of the officers in the process.
The detained individual is a 20-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region, who had previous legal issues. Investigators informed him of his suspicion for violating the law, particularly for threats and hooliganism. During the investigation, the young man remained in custody.
Recently, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv found him guilty and sentenced him to four and a half years in prison.
