Leaders from two coalition factions of the Bundestag, Jens Spahn from the Christian Democratic Union and Matthias Miersch from the Social Democratic Party of Germany, have arrived in Ukraine.

According to the publication, this is the first joint visit by the heads of the CDU/CSU and SPD to Ukraine. Additionally, it marks the first visit for both Spahn and Miersch. In Kyiv, they intend to discuss further support for Ukraine from Germany and diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
“Matthias Miersch and I are here to send a clear message: the government factions of CDU/CSU and SPD stand with Ukraine and the brave Ukrainians defending their homeland and Europe,” Spahn stated during a press interaction after arriving in Kyiv.
