In the Desnyansky district of Kyiv, efforts are underway to create more convenient pedestrian crossings by lowering curbs, making the city more accessible to everyone. The Kyiv City State Administration's Transport Infrastructure Department has announced that this year, the team from KP SHEU of the Desnyansky district has lowered curbs at 29 pedestrian crossings.
“Additionally, tactile navigation has been installed for visually impaired individuals, new road markings have been applied, and repairs have been made to the most damaged sections of the road and sidewalk surfaces,” the department reports.
These changes enhance road safety and provide a comfortable environment for all pedestrians.
Recently, the KP SHEU team in the Desnyansky district also established an accessible space near the Administrative Services Center at 29 Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue.
They created barrier-free access to 4 public transport stops, set up parking spaces designated for people with disabilities and their companions, and restored the sidewalk pavement.
