Investigation Completed in Assault Case in Desnyansky District
The Desnyansky police have completed the investigation into the perpetrators who assaulted a passerby and stole his watch and backpack. The assailants face up to ten years in prison for their actions. The incident occurred last month in the Lisovyi massif, when a 35-year-old lawyer reported the attack to the police.
Law enforcement officials determined that the victim was walking home from the metro when two strangers approached him and began provoking a conflict. During the altercation, the perpetrators knocked the 35-year-old victim to the ground and began hitting him in the head, causing bodily harm. Subsequently, the attackers removed the watch from the man's wrist and took his backpack containing personal documents and valuables before fleeing. As a result of the police operation, the suspects, aged 42 and 45 and unemployed, were apprehended. During searches, investigators recovered the stolen items.
The investigators have charged the suspects under part 4 of article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — robbery accompanied by violence committed by a group of individuals during martial law. The pre-trial investigation is complete, and the indictment has been submitted to the court. The suspects are in custody and face up to ten years of imprisonment.
