On August 22, the Kyiv police received a report of an explosion during the day. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that a noise flash grenade had been activated by a 45-year-old local resident.
The man was under the influence of alcohol and was unable to explain his actions. He was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding the incident under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism. The penalty for this offense can be up to seven years in prison.
