Serhiy Khodakivskyi, acting head of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office, has announced charges against a 49-year-old man for the crime under Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the pre-trial investigation, the suspect, a Kyiv resident, met the girl and later invited her to his home, where he offered her alcohol. During their first meeting, he showed no interest in her, pretending to be her friend. However, during their next encounter, he raped her.
The perpetrator has been arrested and faces up to 12 years in prison.
During the court session regarding the preventive measure, Serhiy Khodakivskyi requested that the suspect be held in custody without bail. The court granted this request.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of the Desnyansky district prosecutor's office by investigators from the Desnyansky police department.
