Annual Education Conference «August-2025»: Shaping the Future of Education
First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska attended the annual education conference «August-2025», organized by the Ministry of Education and Science. The event was also graced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi.
In her speech, Olena Zelenska emphasized that today’s teachers, even when conducting online lessons, are restoring normalcy in the lives of children and their families. «Thank you for your dedication! As a mother of a schoolboy and a student, I truly appreciate this», – she remarked.
The First Lady shared her initiatives supporting children and youth, including programs focused on accessibility and improving school nutrition.
She highlighted that education is also among the priorities of the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
«Where the security situation allows, we are creating shelters for learning. Together with partners, we provide students and teachers with devices for remote learning. We are also expanding educational centers in medical institutions for children undergoing long-term treatment in collaboration with the «School of Superheroes»», – she added.
Olena Zelenska also noted that the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen will focus on education and its impact on the future.
«An important figure from our «Future Index» study shows that 82% of Ukrainian teenagers view their future with hope. This is a crucial signal, as even amidst the war, our youth do not lose faith and plan for the future», – she emphasized.
This year, the conference brought together over 500 participants, including educators, administrators, and representatives of international organizations, to discuss transformations in education and contemporary challenges.
