Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that he would address the issue of territories during his discussions with Vladimir Putin.
This was shared during a briefing in Washington.
Zelensky expressed his thoughts regarding the portrayal of occupied territories on a map presented during the White House meeting, noting that he had a constructive dialogue without any conflicts with Trump. He explained the timeline and circumstances under which certain areas of Ukraine, including parts of the east and Crimea, were occupied in 2014. However, he did not provide a clear answer regarding the US position on potential territory exchanges or any formula that the Ukrainian side might have regarding the recognition of certain territories as belonging to Russia.
"The issue of territories will remain between me and Putin," the president stated, avoiding further details.
