A New Book on Loss and Courage by a Ukrainian Hero
The presentation of a new book by Ukrainian hero and defender of the Donetsk airport, Alexander Tereshchenko, titled «Life After 4:30 PM. Seven Years Later» was held in Kyiv. The book is published in Braille and audio format to accommodate visually impaired readers.
Among the attendees was Lesya Petrivska, the Commissioner of the Kyiv City Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Lesya Petrivska stated: «Author Alexander Tereshchenko defended the Donetsk airport in 2014. Due to his injuries, he lost sight in one eye, his right arm, and part of his left hand, but he did not lose faith in himself. He has become a symbol of bravery and resilience. Listening to him, you feel that inner strength can surpass any loss. This story inspires not only veterans but all of us to believe in ourselves, support others, and never give up. The book shares real experiences that can provide support for many. Alexander speaks candidly about pain and loss, yet he emphasizes the importance of not being alone. Such books are essential for veterans, encouraging them to seek help. I am pleased that this publication has been made accessible to people with vision impairments. This is a significant step forward.»
