31 July 2025 19:19
Significant changes have occurred in Ukraine's legislative landscape with the adoption of a new law that bolsters the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
This information was released in the official publication of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The parliament endorsed the initiative put forth by President Volodymyr Zelensky aimed at restoring the independence of these anti-corruption entities.
On the same day, the President signed the respective law.
The revised Criminal Procedure Code, adopted on July 22, posed potential risks to the effective functioning of the anti-corruption framework, particularly regarding the independence of NABU and SAP.
Following the passage of the law concerning the powers of anti-corruption bodies, the 'Servant of the People' party plans to refine decision-making procedures, with a working group already in place.
