Honoring the Fallen: Events in Kyiv
Today, July 27, a rally titled «Free Azov» will take place in Kyiv. The event will start at 17:00 on the Embankment Road, between the River Port and the Park Bridge. The aim of the rally is to honor the memory of those who fell and to call for the release of the captured defenders of Mariupol, particularly the fighters of the «Azov» regiment.
This was reported by the Association of Families of the Defenders of «Azovstal».
On July 28 at 17:00 in Kyiv, there will be an event dedicated to the third anniversary of the tragedy in Olenivka.
«In collaboration with the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv, we announce the reopening of the exhibition «OLENIVKA: the Quintessence of Cruelty». For the first time in three years since the tragedy, July 28 will become a Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine, volunteers, and civilians who were executed, tortured, or died in captivity.
The Olenivka tragedy is one of the most brutal acts committed by Russia against prisoners of war. The mass killing of Azov prisoners in Olenivka occurred on the night of July 28-29, 2022, by Russian occupation forces against unarmed Ukrainian POWs - defenders of «Azovstal» in Mariupol. As a result of this crime, over 50 Ukrainian captives died, and more than 130 were injured, — the report states.
