Violent Assault in Kyiv: Two Suspects Arrested
In Kyiv, law enforcement has apprehended two young men who brutally assaulted a resident of the Svyatoshyn district following a remark.
The attackers targeted the man after he confronted them about drinking alcohol and their loud behavior at a local sports ground. They face up to ten years in prison for their actions.
Witnesses reported a man lying on the ground with severe injuries to the emergency line 102. A response team, including investigators and medical personnel, arrived at the scene.
Authorities discovered that the two young men had been drinking alcohol in the yard when a local resident approached them and made a comment. The conversation escalated into a conflict, resulting in the victim being brutally attacked until he lost consciousness.
After the assault, the attackers fled, and the emergency medical team transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. He is currently in intensive care.
Investigators from the Svyatoshyn police department, in collaboration with the criminal analysis unit, identified the two 24-year-old city residents involved in the crime. They were arrested under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators charged the suspects under part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional grievous bodily harm, dangerous to life, committed by a group of persons. The court has chosen a preventive measure of detention. The penalty for this article can be up to ten years of imprisonment.
