A severe storm, heavy rain, and hail struck the capital on Tuesday, July 22.
In the capital, over 30 fallen trees were reported due to the tempest and thunderstorm forecasted by meteorologists.
More than 40 workers from the Kyiv City Greenery Department and 15 rescue personnel from the capital's emergency service are working to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather.
Additionally, over 10 units of equipment from the Kyiv City Greenery Department and 3 emergency rescue vehicles have been deployed.
On July 22 at 19:46, the emergency service received a report of a tree falling on a car on Mykola Kravchenko Street.
Rescuers used a chainsaw to free a Volkswagen car from the tree and clear the access to a five-story building.
Unfortunately, people were injured due to the weather conditions. Currently, medics have hospitalized 5 individuals, including a 13-year-old girl.
As a result of the adverse weather, a tower crane collapsed at one of the sites of PJSC “Kyivmiskbud” on Hlybochytska Street, 43.
Fortunately, there were no injuries.
The authorities urge residents not to ignore warnings about worsening weather conditions, as failing to follow advice may lead to injuries.
