Visit of Ukrainian Diplomats to Zaporizhzhia
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and ambassadors paid a visit to the frontline positions in Zaporizhzhia and the Orikhiv district on Sunday.
He shared this news on his social media account.
“The courage of the people of Zaporizhzhia deserves our utmost respect. Despite the ongoing Russian terror, the region continues to thrive and retains its indomitable spirit,” emphasized Sybiha.
He informed that the Ukrainian ambassadors witnessed the destruction of houses by Russian strikes, frontline defensive trenches, a safe underground school, and memorials honoring fallen heroes.
“Such visits provide a new understanding of how people live in Ukraine and their most pressing needs,” the minister noted.
Sybiha also reminded that tomorrow President Volodymyr Zelensky will open the 2025 Conference of Ukrainian Ambassadors titled “From the Power of Diplomacy to Diplomacy of Power.”
“We look forward to continuing our fruitful work for the benefit of our country,” he assured.
The Foreign Minister also thanked the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Ivan Fedorov for his dedicated work.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such visits are crucial for diplomats as they provide insight into the realities and needs of the region.
Sybiha stressed the importance of timely decisions regarding additional defense support and investments to maintain economic stability.
During the visit, diplomats toured a unique underground school and discussed facilitating the recovery of children abroad.
At the end of the trip, the diplomats honored the memory of historian Viacheslav Zaitsev, who died at the front.
