The Towel of Hope: Embroidery Event in Kyiv
The embroidery of towels in Ukraine has commenced as an initiative of unity and support, lasting for two months.
On July 15, an event called «Towel of Hope» began in Kyiv at Contract Square, aimed at embroidering towels to support those taken captive and missing in action.
This was reported by the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The initiative was launched by the NGO «Women of the Clan», which includes the unions «Women of the Territorial Defense», «Women of the Armed Forces», and «Born Free 2024».
Women from all over Ukraine and the diaspora abroad participated in the event. The embroidery will continue until Defender of Ukraine Day as a symbol of unity, prayer, and hope.
Families of prisoners of war and missing persons, as well as all concerned individuals, will embroider towels, expressing their support, memory, and solidarity.
A representative from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War also participated in the event.
They provided families with guidance on obtaining information about the captives and missing individuals, as well as opportunities for interaction with the Coordination Headquarters.
