Launch Event for
On July 16 at 3:00 PM in Kyiv at the War Museum, a launch event for the new edition of the social comic magazine “Inker” will take place, aimed at showcasing the Ukrainian fight for freedom through comics.
Venue: Exhibition space “…beyond the borders of their homeland” in the main building of the War Museum.
Participants include:
- CEO of “Inker” Artem Ipatiev,
- journalist and co-author Diana Lanovets,
- artist Iryna Kostiashyna.
The meeting will be moderated by Roman Kabachii, senior research fellow at the War Museum.
During the discussion, representatives of “Inker” will answer questions about how they select topics and prepare each issue. Physical copies of the magazine will also be donated to the Museum's Fund Collection and library.
The magazine was founded in 2022 and has released nine issues, each containing four comics, totaling 36 stories:
- “Mariupol”,
- “Unbreakable. Civilians at War”,
- “Azovstal”,
- “Partisans”,
- “Prisoners”,
- “Love in War”,
- “Evacuation”,
- “Women in War”,
- “Territorial Defense” and two print special editions: “24/02” and “Through the Eyes of a Journalist” (each with 4 personal stories).
Among the stories are accounts from Vasylisa Stepanenko, co-author of the documentary “20 Days in Mariupol”, military photojournalist Yefrem Lukatsky, journalist Oleg Baturin, who experienced captivity, and Roma activist and historian Yanush Panchenko, who lived through the occupation of Kahovka.
