Festival Heart of Azov: Music and Culture
Festival attendees can look forward to an exciting musical program and an introduction to creative individuals from the Azov region.
From June 27 to 29, residents of Kyiv and visitors are invited to the Singing Field for the multi-genre festival 'Heart of Azov', held in honor of Ukraine's Constitution Day.
This event is organized by a community of Kyiv residents who were forced to leave their homes in temporarily occupied territories due to the war and start anew in the capital.
Creative talents from Berdyansk, Mariupol, Primosk, and other towns of the Azov region will showcase their artistic achievements, culinary skills, and share stories about their homeland, which is why the festival is named 'Heart of Azov'.
In particular, the patriotic Berdyansk social club 'Kharakternyky' will present its cuisine, having been a hub of Ukrainian culture in the city.
The festival is organized by the Kyiv Center for Folk Arts and Cultural Studies, which has prepared a diverse musical program.
On Friday, the stage will feature the folk ensemble 'Yahilochka', the folk ensemble 'Hromytsia', RIDNI, Janeuary, and a showcase from Taras Shevchenko National University 'HUCHNO' that will introduce young talents.
Saturday's program will kick off with performances by the finalists of the Sixth International Children's and Youth Art Festival-Competition of Songs in the Languages of the European Union 'FORMIDABLE', supported by the Embassy of Belgium in Ukraine.
Additionally, that day will feature performances by the amateur collective 'Desnyanski Zory', artistic groups from the 'Darnytsia' Palace of Culture, the military orchestra of the 22nd separate brigade 'Kyiv Rus', the folk vocal studio of the Food Technology University, and the bands ANNA MARIA and 'Cossack Games'. An amateur play 'Unbreakable' will also be showcased.
On Sunday, performances are planned by the vocal ensemble 'Namystechko', the concert group of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Wind Orchestra, the vocal ensemble of Igor Sikorsky KPI 'Seventh Sense', artistic groups from the 'Sviatoshyn' Culture Center, the folk ensemble of Kyiv Metro 'Chervona Kalyna', the orchestra of the 27th Pechersk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, as well as bands Franko and Povin.
