Drug Dealers Arrested in Kyiv
In Kyiv's Desnyansky district, law enforcement officers arrested three young individuals engaged in the distribution of psychotropic substances.
The suspects, aged 18-19, were apprehended on the street with a significant amount of illegal "goods." Investigators conducted a search at their rented apartment, uncovering additional drugs and other evidence. The young men have been notified of their charges, and they are currently in custody. They face up to twelve years in prison, along with asset confiscation.
The arrest was carried out by the criminal police of the Desnyansky police department. During a personal search, officers found polyethylene zip bags containing psychotropics.
It has been established that the accomplices traveled from the Cherkasy region to Kyiv, intending to earn money by illegally selling psychotropic substances. Investigators conducted a search at their residence, seizing drugs, scales, and packaging materials.
According to the examination, some of the seized substances included the psychotropic drugs amphetamine and MDMA. The culprits turned out to be two 19-year-olds and an 18-year-old, who were detained under article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Under the procedural guidance of the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office, the investigators charged them under part 3 of article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal acquisition and storage for the purpose of sale of especially dangerous psychotropic substances in particularly large amounts, committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
According to the article's sanctions, the suspects face up to twelve years of imprisonment with asset confiscation.
