A new art installation has been unveiled in the Obolon district of Kyiv, dedicated to the territorial defense forces – the locals who stood up to protect the capital and Ukraine at the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia.
The sculpture titled "Awareness" aims to encapsulate the internal transformations experienced by Ukrainians since the war began. From initial shock and confusion to determination, strength, and unity. The first to display this determination were those who joined the ranks of the territorial defense to protect their city.
The installation's location in the northern part of the capital is intentional: it was here in February 2022 that the Ukrainian army, particularly the Territorial Defense brigades, held back the advance of the Russian army toward Kyiv.
The project was implemented by the OKKO company as part of the initiative "Eye for an Eye" in collaboration with the charitable foundation "Come Back Alive".
The event was attended by military personnel who defended Kyiv, and they deserve our immense gratitude!
A moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of fallen heroes.
