New Regulations for Confirming Foreign Work Experience
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has introduced new regulations regarding the confirmation of work experience for individuals who have worked abroad, impacting the pension application process.
These changes, established in government resolution No. 562, take effect from May 16 and outline the mechanism for crediting periods of work abroad towards insurance experience.
According to the new regulations, individuals with foreign work experience must submit supporting documents for pension eligibility if they lack sufficient insurance experience.
The resolution notes that work periods completed in countries with which Ukraine has international agreements can be credited towards insurance experience based on these agreements.
If an individual fails to provide the necessary documents, the local branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine is required to send a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 5 working days to obtain confirming data.
Once the relevant documents are received, the reported work periods will be counted towards the insurance experience for pension eligibility.
Additionally, the Cabinet has approved new procedures for confirming the absence of pension payments from other countries for residents of Ukraine for periods prior to January 1, 1992.
