Shooting Incident in Central Kyiv During Police Patrol
In the early hours of May 16, gunshots were heard in central Kyiv when patrol officers attempted to stop a violator's car. The man was wanted and, in an effort to evade apprehension, drove into a police officer.

Details: Witnesses reported that the incident occurred near Independence Square around dawn.
"Ukrainian Truth" reached out to the police for comments.
Statement from Kyiv Patrol Police: "During nighttime patrols, we stopped an Audi vehicle whose driver was violating the curfew. Upon checking the driver's documents, we found that he was wanted. We requested him to proceed to the RTC for further clarification of the circumstances".
Details: Police added that the man reacted aggressively and attempted to flee, "driving into a police officer".
"According to part 7 of article 46 of the Law of Ukraine "On National Police", the inspector fired shots towards the vehicle, but the driver continued to flee", – the police reported.
The vehicle has since been located, and the fugitive has been apprehended.
"Investigators are currently clarifying all circumstances. There are no injuries from the use of the weapon. The patrol officer sought medical assistance", – concluded the police.
