The first cogeneration plant of Nova Poshta has started operating in Western Ukraine.
This was reported by the company's press service.
Nova Poshta announced the launch of its first cogeneration gas engine installation (CGE) with an electrical capacity of 1 MW. The plant operates on a dual-generation principle, simultaneously producing electricity and heat from natural gas.
This is just the beginning of a large-scale project — six more similar installations are already in the installation phase. Some of them, particularly in Kyiv, are planned to be launched by the end of the year.
All installations aim to ensure reliable energy supply for the company's critical infrastructure regardless of the situation in the country's energy system.
According to company representatives, the implementation of this project is part of a long-term strategy for energy independence and sustainable development, which is particularly relevant given the periodic electricity supply restrictions due to shelling.
