PrivatBank cardholders with the number 044 364 53 20 receive calls from supposed «security service representatives» claiming that «several suspicious transactions have been made from your card to the enemy country in the last 20 minutes».
The fraudsters offer to cancel the transactions, provide insurance against fraud, and pressure individuals to follow their demands immediately, including recording a voice message and «verifying» their card details.
To enhance credibility, they mention a «personal number» that they claim can be found on the PrivatBank website.
This way, they aim to collect clients' information for further illegal activities to steal funds. Bank employees never ask for card numbers, PINs, or CVV codes.
Citizens are urged not to disclose personal information or conduct financial transactions during calls or messages from unknown parties.
If you receive a call from a fraudster, you should contact the bank's call center and report the intruders. If you have fallen victim to fraud, it is advisable to contact the cyber police or other competent authorities.
