Kidnapping Case: Ukrainian Father Flees to Mexico with Children
A man from Ukraine, who recently lost custody of his two children, unlawfully took them from a school in Los Angeles and crossed the border into Mexico.
According to law enforcement, there is a possibility that the man intends to return to Ukraine, reports Fox News.
Ukrainian Father Kidnaps Children in the USA and Escapes to Mexico
Authorities are searching for 39-year-old Rodion Kolomoets, suspected of abducting his own children – 9-year-old Aurora and 7-year-old Grant Kolomoets.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when he picked up the children from their educational institution without permission.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), suspect Rodion Kolomoets is described as a Caucasian male with chestnut hair and gray eyes.
The report also states that he is a citizen of Ukraine and likely intends to return to his home country with the children.
U.S. Police Searching for Ukrainian and Children
On the same day, the suspect was recorded at a border checkpoint in San Ysidro as his Toyota Prius crossed the border between the United States and Mexico.
Currently, the family's whereabouts remain unknown.
Authorities reported that the suspect and children primarily communicate in Russian.
The police are urging anyone with information about the children's or their father's whereabouts to contact the LAPD.
