Arson Incident in Kyiv: Suspect Detained
On April 7, a "Nissan Leaf" car was completely destroyed by fire in Kyiv. The vehicle belonged to a 67-year-old doctor, and authorities have charged a potential arsonist.

Details: According to Araik Kochadamyan, the head of the Holosiivskyi police department, a 36-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region was involved in the crime.
Direct quote: "The suspect arrived in the capital with a gasoline canister that was prepared in advance. He doused the vehicle, owned by the 67-year-old doctor, with flammable liquid and set it on fire. After the car ignited, the perpetrator attempted to flee but was apprehended nearby".
Details: Police detained the arsonist and confiscated a lighter and a canister of flammable substance from him. Currently, authorities are investigating the motive behind the crime.
Additionally, during his escape, the suspect used force against a witness and threatened him.
Investigators, under the guidance of the Holosiivskyi district prosecutor's office, have charged him with offenses under Article 194 (intentional destruction of someone else's property) and Article 129 (threat of murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
At present, authorities are deciding on a preventive measure for the suspect, who faces up to ten years in prison.
